Fireworks ForecastFor dog and cat owners in Berkshire and nearby

A calm night in for your dog or cat.

See when the fireworks start near you, so the walk is done and the curtains are drawn before the first bang.

Night by night

The big nights for garden fireworks

Back-garden fireworks aren't listed anywhere. These are the nights they peak. By law, fireworks must stop at 11pm, except on the nights shown with a later time.

Before the bangs

  • Walk earlyDo the evening walk before dusk and keep them on the lead. Frightened dogs bolt.
  • Make a denA covered crate or quiet corner with their own bedding gives them somewhere to hide.
  • Shut out the nightClose windows and curtains, and put the TV or radio on to soften the bangs.
  • Keep cats inBring them in before dark, close the cat flap and put out a litter tray.
  • Comfort them if they come to youIt's fine to reassure a scared pet. If they'd rather hide, let them.
  • Very scared? Call your vet nowThere's still time to get help in place before New Year's Eve.
